Radio Tg.Mures is a regional broadcasting station, with an estimated audience of one million listeners in the whole Transylvania.

Radio Tg.Mures first started to broadcast on the 2nd of March 1958, consequently to the Cluj and Craiova regional stations in 1954, Timisoara in 1955 and Radio Iasi, in the year of 1941.
After 27 years of continuous broadcasting, in 1985, on the 12th of January, at 12.45 hrs, a telephone call coming from the President of the Romanian Broadcasting Society himself, was announcing the cancelling of all regional radio programmes on behalf of the dictator's couple's order.

Radio Tg.Mures came back to life, starting again to broadcast on the 22nd of December 1989.
The RTM programmes are well-received in 36 cities and 1100 villages in the transylvanian districts of Mures, Harghita, Covasna and Brasov.

There are also signals of receiving our programmes in other areas of the country, such as the districts of Bistrita, Cluj, Alba, Sibiu, Baia Mare, Vilcea and Galati and even abroad, from radio amateurs coming from Finland, Germany, Holland, Norway, Israel and Greece.

According to the METRO MEDIA TRANSYLVANIA audience polls from March 2002, ordered by ROOOS Holland, Radio Tg.Mures is the most listened radio station, being the first in the top of both Romanian and Hungarian listeners options.

Radio Tg.Mures is the leader of all charts for the best news programmes, and also on topics such as economics, social, sports and culture issues, as well as producing and broadcasting folk music programmes.

Radio Tg.Mures is the audio market leader in the city of Tg.Mures, with a 22.3% market share and a 5.2% rating, outstanding stations such as Europa FM, Radio GA GA, Radio Contact, Mix FM, Uniplus Radio and Radio UNO.
